CLARR |
| DESCRIPTION: |
"CLARR is a program that runs in the Microsoft Windows
operating environment. It does its work by talking to your mainframe
NOTIS(r) system
through ... a terminal emulator called TCP3270.... CLARR uses its connection to NOTIS to
simulate actions normally perform by staff--entering a command, inspecting the result, and
taking the next appropriate step. CLARR's advantage is that it is able to do these tasks
more rapidly and consistently than is otherwise possible."--What is

FastCat for Windows and Desert
FastCat for Windows 95 |
| DESCRIPTION: |
"FastCat and Desert FastCat are Microsoft Windows
programs (written in Visual Basic) which will capture MARC records displayed in another
window running your library's online catalog, and extract call number labels or
author/title labels, allow you to generate multiple copies or volume series from those
labels, and print or save for later printing those labels. Fastcat and Desert FastCat will
also generate bindery slips from captured labels, and allow you to add various special
parameters to the slips such as "Bind in cover," etc. Again, multiple copies or
volume series slips can be generated from a single record capture."--Description. |

OCLC PURL Resolver Software |
| DESCRIPTION: |
"A PURL is a Persistent Uniform Resource Locator.
Functionally, a PURL is a URL. However, instead of pointing directly to the location of an
Internet resource, a PURL points to an intermediate resolution service. The PURL
resolution service associates the PURL with the actual URL and returns that URL to the
client. The client can then complete the URL transaction in the normal fashion. In Web
parlance, this is a standard HTTP redirect." The PURL Resolver Software is used to
resolve the PURLs. |

WebSort for Windows 95 |
| DESCRIPTION: |
A program for converting INNOPAC MARC lists to Web-viewable
HTML files, is now available for free download from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas
ftp site. "Websort for Windows is a Microsoft Windows program which accepts an
Innovative Interfaces Inc. INNOPAC MARC list file as input, and breaks it into separate
citation files according to criteria you specify. You can for instance create a MARC list
in INNOPAC of all items cataloged during the past month, and use WebSort to create a
separate file for each of the following categories: music scores, nonbook materials,
architecture library holdings, etc. You can use holdings library codes, call number
ranges, subject codes, and fund codes as your sorting criteria. WebSort can optionally add
HTML coding as it sorts so that the resulting files are full HTML files ready for posting
on a Web site. Requirements: A PC with a 386DX or higher processor, at least 4 MB of
memory, and 2-5 MB of hard disk space are required. In addition, you will need whatever
space the input and output files you create occupy. A 486 or faster and 8 MB of memory are
_strongly_ recommended. Limitations: WebSort does not alphabetize or in any way reorder
the files created; they will be output to the various output files specified in the order
they occur in your source list. Only INNOPAC MARC format files have been tested for input.
Documentation: A README.1ST file is provided in the zip file along with the program files.
A full manual is also provided in Microsoft Word 2.0 format once the program is
installed." Cannot get access to it lately. |
